Tasting notes
Deep ruby red color with brick-red hues, the result of its long aging. The nose reveals a complex and elegant palette: ripe fruit (plum, blackberry, blackcurrant), balsamic notes, cocoa, sweet spices (vanilla, clove), and a mineral background. Slight hints of leather and tobacco are reminiscent of its evolution in the bottle.
On the palate, it is energetic and silky, with a firm but pleasant structure, round and well-polished tannins, good acidity, and a long, warm, and persistent finish. It is full-bodied, with volume and complexity, and an aftertaste reminiscent of ripe fruit and hints of aging.
Pairing
Ideal with grilled or stewed red meats, roast lamb, seasonal stews, strong cured cheeses, vegetable dishes with cold cuts, or autumn mushrooms.
Serving temperature: 16–18°C — ideal to decant about 20–30 minutes before serving.
